#5. Devin Miles – Millions
New Devin Miles is always the sign of a good week. He’s the guilty pleasure of my hip hop catalogue. It’s easy, casual and super relaxed. You aren’t listening to Devin Miles for insight, for deep lyrics or for hard-hitting political messages. Simply, it’s just for chillin’.
#4. Belgrave – Playing Games
Do you like haunting songs about lost love and despair? Do you seek out sadness in the music you listen to? Is it raining outside and you’re sitting, alone, looking out your window watching the street traffic flow? Well then, Belgrave is for you.
#3. Scavenger Hunt – Till I See A Sign
The new Scavenger Hunt is like something directly out of the 80’s pop scene. Catchy, powerful chorus and addictive vocals. Honestly I don’t even have much to say about this one. It’s just straight-up good music.
#2. GIRL FRIEND – Arrive Alone Leave Alone

The thing I love about Arrive Alone Leave Alone is how many “stages” there are to it. Now, I’m not trained enough in music to know all the different parts of a song. But what I do know is that when there’s more than just your standard verse-chorus-verse pattern, it’s usually good times. Everything about this is catchy and clever. It’s also the perfect track to describe every experience I’ve ever had of going to a friend’s party and hoping to get lucky.
#1. La Mar – Trick of the Light
Trick of the Light is just straight up weird. I don’t get it. I can’t follow the song, I can’t predict it, and I must be on the 20th listen by now and still cannot sing along properly with the chorus. But goddamn is it enchanting. I think it’s those drums. The occasional bongo-drum sounds that pepper the song just throw me off. This must be what addiction is like, because despite how odd and unsettling this song makes me feel I cannot stop listening to it.
