#5. Lyves – Darkest Hour
Do you like the ungodly volume of haunting, female-vocals driven minimalistic pop music coming out these days? If so, you’ll definitely eat up Lyves’ Darkest Hour.
#4. Mapps x Ciele – Parking Lots

Sad songs are the best songs. Ciele teams up with Mapps on a track that reeks of angst and despair. Feels like a song that is made for a sad scene in a movie.
#3. Allan Rayman Feat. Jessie Reyez – Verona the Hellcat
The newest jam from Allan Rayman is a banger that is full of pompous swagger. Love it. Super excited to catch Allan Rayman live when he’s in Vancovuer here in a few weeks. It’s been much too long since I’ve had the chance to see one of my favourite acts live.
#2. Era Irstefi – Bonbon
Not even ashamed to admit I originally had this pegged to be my top song of the week before a last minute release trumped it. It’s a brilliantly crafted pop track that is made for the club scene – and honestly, there’s nothing wrong with that. Plus who doesn’t want to belt out the line “bon bon, bet you wanna taste it…”??!
#1. ROMES – Tryna Be
AHHHHH. The warped vocals are strong with this one. Without question this is one of my favourite debut tracks this year. Super excited to see what comes next from this Toronto troop. Definitely have a tough job ahead of them crafting something better than beauty of a track.
