Songs of the Week 53: March 20 – March 26

plaza#5. PLAZA – Reason

Not in love with this track as much as I’m excited for a new act with this kind of sound. PLAZA’s got a real smooth electro-RnB thing going on that gives me a bit of a PARTYNEXTDOOR vibe (but without the hip hop).

motel radio#4. Motel Radio – Gimme Your Love

Country rock/folk rock isn’t really my strong suit. They’ve never been genres that I’ve found myself enjoying. However, once and a while I’ll come across a catchy jam that hits me just right. Motel Radio’s Gimme Your Love is light and easy – the kind of track that is great to play when all your friends have extremely different music tastes and you need something to please everyone.

step rockets#3. Step Rockets – West Coast

Step Rockets make music that is pure fun. I can only imagine their shows are a blast to see. West Coast is made-for-radio pop rock, and now the second track by this group of lads to make it onto one of my weekly posts.

boehm#2. Boehm Feat. Molly Moore- Swallow My Pride

I’ve loved Boehm ever since his remix of Visions by Cheat Codes. Now he teams up with Molly Moore on vocals that changes the pace a bit from the first 3 songs posted this week. Not quite a dance track, but definitely something that has a bit of dubstep feel to it.

yesyou#1. Dugong Jr. Feat. Tashka – Secrets (YesYou Remix) //

Will fully admit that it wasn’t the strongest of weeks this one for new jams. However, YesYou’s remix of an already favourite track by Dugong Jr has saved the day. It’s unfairly catchy, has some wicked warped vocals and will definitely get you and the crew dancing up a storm. I love remixes that manage to create something so new that the original song isn’t even identifiable anymore. That’s exactly the story here. If you don’t believe me, check out the original here:
