#5. Billie Eilish – Six Feet Under
The young lady who took the blogosphere by storm with her track Ocean Eyes returned just over a week ago with another haunting piece. Love the layering of vocals near the end.
#4. Shura – Make It Up
Everything Shura releases is fantastic. Sounding almost as if she’s back in the glory days of 90s pop music, Shura’s Make It Up gives us something to dance to this week.
#3. Equador – Blood
Love the chorus here, and the slow build throughout the song. There’s a full, anthemic sound to Blood, the first (and only) track I’ve heard from Equador. Hoping to hear more soon as they prep a release of their debut album.
#2. Casper & B. Feat. Michael Christmas & Marc E. Bassy – Work Hard
It’s always a better week when I come across some new hip hop. Work Hard is not the typical type of hip hop track I like (usually I’m more into chillhop), but this hard-hitting track wins me over with a brilliant pace-changing chorus. God it’s so damn good. The more I listen, the more I like the grimey, dirty, base-driven verses… but man… That flowing chorus is so so nice.
#1. ROMES – Believe (mellowmatics remix)
soundcloud.com/mellowmatics // soundcloud.com/romesband
Heard this track Sunday evening of last week and almost considered re-writing my last week’s post to add this one in. I love ROMES (who can hold claim to having one of my favorite songs already in Tryna Be), and now mellowmatics flips Believe into a gloriously bouncey dance track.
