Songs of the Week 98: January 29 – February 4

george-ogilvie#5. George Ogilvie – Foreign Hands

Sometimes listening to certain artists makes me really wish I was more musically inclined. Foreign Hands is the type of song that would be an absolute joy to play – just you, a guitar and some sweet sweet melodies.

pvris#4. PVRIS – You and I

This song brings me back to my (somewhat regretful) punk/emo phase of high school. Powerful vocals and a great hook really go a long way.

geovarn#3. Geovarn – Warming Up

Really digging the new track from Geovarn. Much more RnBesque than his earlier stuff… and well… I’ll never not give some smooth RnB a chance.

james-gillespie#2. James Gillespie – What You Do

Soulful and powerful. Great use of silence and minimalistic sounds. Also really love the big, banging drums.

kevin-garrett#1. Kevin Garrett – Little Bit of You

It’s apparently been a week of soulful folk rock along the lines of Chet Faker, Ben Howard etc.. Kevin Garrett’s gorgeous Little Bit of You is my favorite of the bunch. It has a bit more depth, a bit more variety and makes me just a bit more sad than the previous folkie-tracks.
