#5. Bronze Whale x Popeska Feat. Tom Aspaul – Imagine (Thoreau Remix)
Starts off with a serious Deadmau5 feel, and then ends up sounding exactly like every song I used to adore about 4 years ago. Is that too recent to deem nostalgic?! Love what Thoreau did to the new banger released by Popeska & Bronze Whale.
#4. The xx – Seasons Run
Oddly enough, I like the extra tracks that were released as part of the Deluxe re-release from the newest The xx more than I liked any songs from the original release. Seasons Run is my pick for best of the bunch.
#3. NoMBe – Do Whatchu Want To Me
NoMBe is so cool. His versatility in sound is ridiculous. You never really know what you are in for when you press play on one of his new tracks, and his latest is probably my favorite of all his releases so far.
#2. Verite – Floor
Pleasantly surprised with Verite’s debut album – I had high expectations based on her earlier single releases. Floor is a catchy, pop-driven track that will stick with you long after you finish your first listen.
#1. Gin Wigmore Feat. Logic & Suffa – Willing To Die
Went down an Aussie hip hop wormhole this past week after hearing Gin Wigmore’s newest single (which is not this, it is Hallow Fate, but naturally I went back to listen to everything else she had done because Hallow Fate is fantastic). I’m a major fan of both Hilltop Hoods (Suffa being one of the lead MCs, and the vocals on the first verse of this track) and Logic, but frankly I was hooked on this track from the very opening gospel blasts.
