Songs of the Week 134: October 8 – October 14

xains#5. Xains – Set Me Off

Pulsing debut from Xains, rife with layered, distorted vocals and catchy progression.

angus and julia stone#4. Angus & Julia Stone – Nothing Else

Many moons ago I went through a major Angus & Julia Stone phase. I ate up every single and album they churned out for a good couple years. Haven’t given them many listens recently, but did take their newest album out for a spin and found Nothing Else, which gave me some nostalgic feels. Glad to see they still have that magic.

caity krone#3. Caity Krone – Record About You

Another track with some great progression. I’m into it more and more with each new “stage” that pops in. I’m also a sucker for some catchy lyrics and twangy guitar (yet oddly enough, I’m not one for country).

nocturnal tapes#2. Nocturnal Tapes – Close My Eyes

Loved Visions IV, the latest release from Nocturnal Tapes. A whole bunch of stellar tracks, all with the almost-shoegaze sound they’ve come to be known for. Close My Eyes is the best of the lot in my opinion.

partynextdoor#1. Partynextdoor Feat. Halsey – Damage

Cool. Super cool. Haven’t been able to turn this off. Always kept a passive eye on the crazy volume of music Partynextdoor has been churning out, and Damage is why I keep tabs on this guy. So cool.
