#5. Miles From Kinshasa – Golden
Miles From Kinshasa was one of my favorite “discoveries” ever in the music world. I can’t even remember how he came up on my radar, but after digging into his discography I found a bunch of tracks that now rank amongst my most loved of songs today.
#4. Eyes on the Shore – Atoms to Atoms
I’ll always make some for some good anthem pop rock.
#3. Sam Setton – Hurts So Much
Outside of the “it’s raininggggggg” line that really seem to hit my “cringe” nerve (for whatever reason), Hurts so Much is catchy as hell and a more than solid pop track.
#2. At The Drive-In – Ghost-Tape No. 9
ATDI (and Mars Volta) represent a good 10 years of music obsession for me. ATDI’s Relationship on Command is easily top 3 all time for me. I missed the fact that they had released a new album (albeit with a new lead singer), and was happily surprised to find it pretty solid overall.
#1. Kojaque Feat. Kean Kavanagh – Eviction Notice
It’s oddly perfect that on this, St. Patrick’s Day, the top spot goes to a native Dubliner. I’m totally in love with the quirky Eviction Notice, which is a style departure from Kojaque’s typicaly hip-hop.
