Songs of the Week 306: February 28 – March 6

#5. Young Saab Feat. Torii Wolf & Deem Spencer – Shoulda Woulda Coulda

I’m here for all of Torii Wolf’s lines. Great smokey vocals.

#4. Emotional Oranges Feat. Biig Piig – Body & Soul

I’m still absolutely addicted to Biig Piig’s Feels Right, so it’s much fun to see her featured on this Emotional Oranges track, which is smooth as all their other tracks.

#3. Kings of Leon – Fairytale

Kings of Leon Official | Free Listening on SoundCloud

It’s been sometime since I’ve had a King of Leon track really get me interested. Their newest album didn’t blow me away, but the last track had such a great outro, with the strings fading in and the guitar chords sunsetting. Reminds me a lot of all the things I loved about Elbow. The perfect pre-encore track for a live set. (Also I really wish more bands would make use of strings…)

#2. Two Can – Your Only Option

Two Can | Free Listening on SoundCloud

Two Can sounds like someone I just can’t put my finger on at the moment. But the vocals and the beats are really throwing me for a loop here. Super catchy stuff (and a little hint of Coldplay sound).

#1. Roosevelt – Forget

ROOSEVELT | Free Listening on SoundCloud

While most of Roosevelt’s newest album, Polydans, had been previously released as singles… I don’t think Forget had. And well, if it had then I guess I just didn’t listen properly on the first go cause this is a banger, ripe with that classic Roosevelt retro synth sound.
