Songs of the Week 133: October 1 – October 7

caswell#5. Caswell – Dance Sober

I find this track irresistibly cute, which is an unusual way for me to feel about a song. Guess it helps that it’s also got a chorus which’ll be stuck in your head for days.

faux#4. Faux – Take Back Time

The 90s are mostly known for grimey punk rock, but there was also the Janet Jackson-poppy RnB that ruled the airwaves. This track by relatively unknown Faux makes me think of that with it’s danceable nostalgia.

allan rayman#3. Allan Rayman – Word of Mouth

Feels like it’s been quite a while since we’ve been graced with new Allan Rayman music. Word of Mouth is as Allan Rayman as it gets, with the dinstinct vocals and hints of western/oater notes in the flow. Really digging the guitar.

andrew bayer#2. Andrew Bayer Feat. Alison May – Signs of the Fall

I wouldn’t call prog house one of my favorites genres, but when I come across a track I like it dominates my playlist for the following few months. I find them the most addictive of all genres. Something about the, well, progression.. of the tracks just sucks you in and after the first listen, the predictability of the track works in it’s favor. Doesn’t hurt that a lot of prog house music comes with stunning, catchy vocals.

kill paris#1. Kill Paris Feat. Dotter – Red Lights

Gotta give this until the chorus to shine. Dance party central. And man, can anyone rack up soundcloud plays like Kill Paris? Only been out 18 days and the kid already has 288k+ plays on this bad boy. Impressive stuff.
