Songs of the Week 186: October 21 – October 27

parcels#5. Parcels – Tape

Wholesome music makers Parcels are back with a new album full of tracks to melt your worries away.

georgi kay#4. Georgi Kay – Toxins

Loving those chorus synths. Been a big fan of the stuff Georgi Kay has put out this year.

mesita#3. Mesita – Yaoi Prince

My adoration of Mesita is well documented, so don’t think this track really needs any explanation. Classic Mesita.

2017 MTV Video Music Awards - Arrivals#2. Khalid – Vertigo

New Khalid Ep was wonderful. A bunch of tracks were keepers, with Vertigo being the standout song IMO.

phoebe ryan#1. Phoebe Ryan Feat. Tove Lo – Heart Attack

The Neon Gold label/blog has been a staple of mine since I came across it many many moons ago. I somewhat credit them for introducing me to the world of music blogs. While they don’t release as much music these days as they used to (C’mon Neon… it’s been like 4 months since you’re last track post!!), they did release a celebration album featuring tracks new and old from some of their biggest stars. I like me some Phoebe Ryan, but I’m a total sucker for another Tove Lo gets involved in. Her contributions to this track really win me over.

Songs of the Week 181: September 16 – September 22

parcels#5. Parcels – Lightenup

Soft sunshine pop with a guity lick that will keep you hooked throughout. Signature Parcels.

tailor#4. Tailor – After

This one was a slow burn, but I eventually came around. It has a charming sound and really comes into it’s own halfway through the track.

diice#3. Diice – Chemical

This week has been really hard to rank. Chemical in particular is one that I feel like I’ll regret not making #1 after all is said and done. It’s ridiculously catchy and has a great chorus.

midnight#2. Midnight – Archon Reprise

I’ve been fascinated with the artist Midnight, going all the way back to when it was simply mdnt. Archon Reprise is another addition to a strong lineup of tracks that makes you really stop and listen.

emmit fenn#1. Emmit Fenn Feat. Drew Love – Without You

The winner, by a hair. Something about the edgy, faux-hip hop sound really hits me. Been digging a lot of what Emmit Fenn’s been involved in recently.
