Songs of the Week 193: December 9 – December 15

saens#5. Saens – Wind Turns Cold

Saens is one of those artists who should be more popular than he is when you have tracks like this.

the 1975#4. The 1975 – I Like America & America Likes Me

Loved The 1975’s album that dropped a few weeks ago. A slew of tracks I’d happily feature, but went with the one which has had the most plays from me since I gave the entire album a spin.

musa#3. Musa – Sabah

This came out of nowhere, and I still don’t really know anything about him (them?) even after doing my best to dig around. What I do know is that he (they?) make some pretty damn chill hip hop.

b00ty#2. B00ty – Blowing Up My Phone

Still can’t get enough of these guys. Every track is pure fun.

teflon sega#1. Teflon Sega – Satellite

Ahhh the mysterious Teflon Sega. Sometimes drops a release a week and I still adore every single release. Only thing that bothers me is the lack of urgency on the Spotify account.

Songs of the Week 177: August 19 – August 25

no kind of rider#5. No Kind of Rider – Autumn

Dark and grimy single from No Kind of Rider. Think it starts stronger than it ends, but it’s captivating nonetheless.

broods#4. Broods – Peach

Been quite some time since I can recall hearing a track from Broods. Loving the fun, upbeat nature of Peach.

the1975#3. The 1975 – Tootimetootimetootime

Lots of 1975 here the last few weeks as the lads gear up for their new album by dropping singles. So far I’m very into everything I’ve heard.

wafia#2. Wafia – I’m Good

Mostly have come across Wafia as the lady behind catchy vocals on tracks by the likes of Thomston & Ta-Ku. This time we’re treated to a single that’s all hers and, as you’d expect, it’ll be stuck in your head for days.

machineheart#1. Machineheart – Do You Love

Obsessed with that guitar riff. Reminds me a lot of everything I love about The Boxer Rebellion, with the strong vocals, piercing instruments yet a feeling of silence.
